Rescue endangered historic signs directly from streets across the New York metro area
Fund heavy rigging, boom lifts, and specialized crews for complex, multi-day sign saves
Expand our library of rare print ephemera, photography, historic maps, and trade catalogs
Upgrade digitization equipment to document and share our collection with researchers, museums, and students
Cover essential operating costs, from temperature-controlled storage to heavy-duty transport logistics
Maintain scholarship students for every educational workshop, with a focus on those interested in lettering and from our neighborhood, East New York

Every sign in our collection has a unique story about local business and culture in New York City. Sponsor a scholarship student

We are committed to making our educational offerings more accessible by offering full-ride scholarships at every single workshop. We welcome individual and corporate partners to help sustain this program, either by funding a single participant or endowing an annual scholarship cohort. Beyond direct donations, there are other ways to support the museum! If you know of (or have) any New York City signs that may need a good home, please feel free to shoot us an email at info@nysignmuseum.org for more information. If you hear about any local business with classic signage that may be closing shop, let us know and we will reach out to them.

The New York Sign Museum is a fully registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (federal EIN number is 85-4146883) and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
